Notice of 2021 Annual Meeting of the Members of the Water Quality Association

The 2021 Annual Meeting of the members of Water Quality Association, an Illinois not-for-profit organization, will be held online on Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. CDT for the following purposes:

1.  To elect directors

2.  To transact such other business as properly may come before the meeting.

In connection with the election of Directors, below is the slate of nominees presented by the Nominating Committee.  If you are unable to attend the meeting, please complete the proxy form and return to the WQA offices so that it will be received prior to April 15, 2021.

Edward P. "Ted" Jones, MWS             
Kinetico Incorporated (Newbury, OH)

Edward P. “Ted” Jones is Vice President of North American Dealer sales for Kinetico, Inc., where he has worked since 1987.  He is the third generation of his family to be in the water treatment business: His  grandfather, Lloyd Gordon, started Gordon Brothers Water in 1945.  Ted has served two terms as chair of the WQA Events Committee and volunteered on the Federal Government Affairs Committee and some task forces. He also is a past board member of the Pacific Water Quality Association. He was awarded the WQA Key Award in 2020, the Award of Merit in 2013 and is a lifetime member of the President’s Club for his success in recruiting WQA members.

Mike Mitchell
PUR Water Filtration Products - KAZ USA Inc. (Marlboro, MA)

Mike Mitchell was elected to the WQA Board of Directors in 2019 and currently serves on the association’s Board of Governors. He is director of advanced technologies for the Health and Home division at Helen of Troy (PUR Water Filtration Products). Mike works to develop innovation strategies around water filtration. He traveled to Flint, Mich., and Newark, N.J., among other cities, in recent years to help citizens find solutions to lead contamination in their home drinking water.  Mike holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree from the University of Michigan. He was honored with the WQA Key Award in 2017.

Michael Mormino
ENPRESS, LLC (Eastlake, OH)

Michael P. Mormino, VP Sales & Marketing of ENPRESS LLC, has served in many volunteer roles with WQA and in 2015 was honored with the WQA Award of Merit.  He has been actively involved since joining the industry in 2001 and leads ENPRESS in their product and business development efforts.  Mike has an MBA from Case Western Reserve University in Entrepreneurship and is active in his community and an avid runner, fisherman, and golfer.  He lives in Hudson, OH, with his wife Amanda and their four children.

James F. Stern             
A.O. Smith Corporation (Milwaukee, WI)

Jim Stern joined the WQA Board of Directors in 2017 and currently serves as treasurer.  Since 2007, he has been executive vice president, general counsel, and secretary of A.O. Smith Corporation, responsible for overseeing the corporation’s legal, governance, compliance, securities law, and government relations functions. Jim also spends a significant portion of his time on corporate development and the company’s global water treatment business, in which he chairs the Global Water Treatment steering committee. Jim serves on the Board of Directors of Badger Meter, Inc., a Milwaukee-based metering and flow technologies company, the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) and Milwaukee Water Council.  


Becky Tallon
A.O. Smith Corporation (Milwaukee, WI)

Becky Tallon, Director of Water Treatment Technologies at A. O. Smith, has been in the water treatment industry for 20 years, primarily focused on the research of new technologies and development of those technologies into residential products.  She has a degree in Chemical Engineering, an MS in Engineering Management and is a licensed Professional Engineer in Wisconsin.  She has been active on numerous WQA, NSF, and ASPE committees and task forces, including serving on the WQRF Board of Directors, as Chair of the WQA Water Sciences Committee, and a member of the Women in Industry Advisory Council. She was honored with the WQA Award of Merit in 2020.

Mike Herman, Chief Executive Officer of Driessen Water, began his career in water treatment in 2006 when he and his wife Diana moved to Minnesota.  Prior to Driessen Water he served 21 years in the Military followed by working for Sears as a District Manager.  He is certified by WQA as a Master Water Specialist and holds a Minnesota Master Water Conditioner certification.  He is active in the water treatment industry as well as local state and city organizations, currently serving on the Board of Directors for WQA, Minnesota WQA, the Minnesota Plumbing Board and the Owatonna, MN, Chamber of Commerce.  When not at work he is involved with church youth group, other community activities and “working” on his farm.

Doug Ramer, MWS, CWR
Martin Water Conditioning (Myerstown, PA) 

Doug Ramer, Director of Martin Water, began his career in water treatment in 1980, spending the last 25 years in Human Resources. He received his first WQA certification in 1992 and currently holds the MWS & CWR certifications. He has served as president of the EWQA and currently serves on the WQA Board of Directors.  In most recent years Doug has helped lead Martin Water to the No. 1 Kinetico dealership in the USA.  He also is a business advisor and facilitates HR workshops for small businesses.


Greg Reyneke, MWS
Red Fox Advisors (Orem, UT)

Greg Reyneke has over two decades of ongoing experience in the management and growth of water treatment dealerships. His expertise spans residential, commercial, and industrial applications including wastewater remediation, Legionella risk-management, and advanced corrosion control strategies. A 2016 recipient of the Ray Cross Award, Greg has been active in the WQA since 2004 and served on numerous Committees and Task Forces including the Professional Certification and Training Committee, Sustainability Review Board, and Glossary of Terms Task Force. Greg has served on the WQA Board of Directors since 2018. He is a voting member of the NSF Joint Committee on Drinking Water Treatment Units, and is active with the American Society of Sanitary Engineering (ASSE). Greg is past President of the Pacific Water Quality Association (PWQA) and Chairs their Education Committee.
