Expiration Due to Lack of Payment

A person who had already earned all of the required CPD credits needed by the recertification deadline, but has allowed the certification to lapse because of non-payment of the certification renewal fee, is eligible to seek reinstatement during a limited stated period of time and thereby avoid retaking the basic exam. Reinstatement without examination requires that the eligible person pay the regular certification renewal fee plus an additional $50 reinstatement fee no more than five months after the expiration date.

The reinstated person will then begin a new three-year certification cycle, and must earn the required CPD credits within that new cycle. Credits from the previous cycle are considered null and void and will not be carried over. If the person does not meet the reinstatement deadline, he or she must retake their most recent exam to be recertified and pay all applicable exam fees.
