Water quality pros to meet in Chicago area, near WQA headquarters & lab

LISLE, Ill. – The 2024 WQA Mid-Year Leadership Conference will be held September 17-19, 2024, at the Westin O’Hare Hotel in Rosemont, Ill., the Water Quality Association has announced. The Chicago-area venue is just a few miles from WQA’s International Headquarters and Laboratory.

The annual event is designed for water treatment professionals to come together to help shape and advance industry strategy, outreach, and support. Attendees can also participate in activities benefiting the Water Quality Research Foundation.

“Mid-Year is an interactive, highly collaborative conference designed to encourage engagement and to harness the experience and expertise of the attendees,” said WQA Chief Operating Officer Tom Bruursema. “It’s a unique opportunity to have a voice for the future of the industry.”

Water quality issues, such as PFAS and other emerging contaminates, and solutions for business challenges will be front and center. The conference introduces attendees to ideas and strategies to take back to their own businesses, and it helps them further their industry involvement.

Chicago is a prime Midwest location, allowing convenient travel for those driving in from nearby states or those flying into either of the two Chicago airports. In addition, the Rosemont hotel is a quick drive to the WQA/WQRF headquarters, allowing more staff to be involved in the event and for event participants to tour the headquarters and lab.

The 2025 conference again will be held in Rosemont, on Sept. 18-20, 2025. Hosting the event at the same location for two consecutive years delivers on many of the same attendee travel conveniences along with financial savings for attendees, WQA, and WQRF. Other locations will be considered beyond 2025, but the many advantages of the Chicago area make it a good fit for this year and next. Registration and hotel reservations for the 2024 event is expected to open in June. Full conference details will be available at the event website, wqa.org/mylc.
