Tap Score Frequently Asked Questions

Who is SimpleLab?

SimpleLab is an independent company that produces the Tap Score water test kits. Simple Lab does not manufacture or sell water treatment products, nor does it earn a commission on sales of treatment products or services. It uses independent, certified laboratories to test consumers’ water.

What is Tap Score, and how does it work?

Tap Score is an easy-to-use home water test kit that can be shipped directly to a consumer. The customer follows the easy instructions to gather water samples, then ships the samples to a certified lab using the mailing label provided. Within a week of the lab receiving the test vials, the customer gets a detailed electronic test report, explaining in clear language which of the tested compounds were found and in what amounts, their potential health risks and some recommended treatment options. Consumers interested in pursuing water treatment solutions can click a button in that report to choose among nearby WQA member service providers and send a pre-written email and a copy of their test results.

Why should WQA members be excited?

It’s an opportunity to receive strong customer leads — motivated, knowledgeable consumers who have had their water tested and are interested in improving it.

How does the consumer find Tap Score water testing kits?

The consumer chooses the appropriate test kit online, depending on whether their home is on municipal or well water and the number of contaminants for which they’d like to screen.

Who is testing the water?

An independent certified drinking water testing laboratory.

Does it matter if is the customer is on well water or city water?

Nope! Tap Score kits are sold for well and city water along with rain and spring water.

Can anyone test their water, no matter where they live?

The service is available to anyone worldwide, but most Tap Score customers live in North America (96% in the United States and 3% in Canada).

Can the customer choose which local water treatment provider to contact?

Yes, the company provides a listing of WQA dealer members in that customer’s Zip Code, and the customer can choose. The number of water treatment providers listed depends on how many member dealers in the local area have signed up to participate – don’t let your competitors get all the referrals!

Will customers see that I have WQA-certified professionals on staff?

Company locations with certified professionals will be indicated, although the individuals’ names will not be listed.

What does it cost me to participate?

There is no cost for WQA dealer members to participate in this WQA member benefit.

How do I participate in this referral program?

Simply provide the email address you would like these potential customers to use to contact you, a process that should take less than five minutes following these easy instructions.
